Experienced American Alex Young (198-F-1989, agency: The Crew A.M.) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Al Salam and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 36-year old forward had a double-double of 41 points and 12 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Ohod (#10, 0-3) with 22-point margin 88-66. Al Salam is placed at 5th position in Saudi Arabian SBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Al Salam will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Young had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Al Salam's top player in his first season with the team. Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ-Indianapolis graduate has very impressive stats this year. Young is league's best scorer averaging so far 32.3ppg. Young is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 2.7spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Lebanese guard Wael Arakji (193-G-1994) of Al-Ula. Arakji impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 13 assists. Of course he led Al-Ula to another comfortable win outscoring Al Khaleej (0-3) 111-57. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Arakji is a newcomer at Al-Ula and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.7ppg (#8). His other stats are also decent: 4.3rpg and 7.7apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Al-Ula's star - international center Mohammed Alsuwailem (211-C-1998). Alsuwailem scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was another key player of Al-Ula, helping his team with a 111-57 easy win against Al Khaleej (#8, 0-3). Al-Ula started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Alsuwailem turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Alsuwailem has a great season in Saudi Arabia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.0rpg (4th best).
